Happy Anniversary, Chris!

I would like to wish the BEST husband in the world a very happy 6 year anniversary!!  We have been through a lot during these last six years, but what an AMAZING little family we have now!  I could not imagine a better partner or best friend.  You work so hard to provide for us so that I can stay home with Logan & Paige.  I hope you know how grateful I am to you for this gift.  You continue to be my rock and the voice of reason when things are hard.  I love that we can still sit and laugh together like we did when we first met.  I love to see the look on your face when you walk in the door every evening.  Your face just lights up when you see Logan and Paige.  It is such a precious moment to see. Logan and Paige are beyond blessed to have you as their dad!  Thank you for loving me through the good days and the hard days.  I am so incredibly blessed to have you as my husband and I thank God for you constantly.  I love you more than you will ever know!

A New Year and a New Me

I started out this new year with a determination to be better at following through.  So many times we tell a friend "we should really get together for dinner" or "let's plan a playdate soon" and more often than not those plans never get made.   We all have great intentions at first, but then we go about with our lives and things get busy and then it's several months before you end up seeing or talking to that friend again.  I also want to be better at following through with making plans for our little family of four.  Chris and I come up with so many ideas of things that we want to do with Logan and Paige or places we want to take them.  Unfortunately, we don't always follow through.  So, this year I am going to do my best to change all of this.

I'm so excited that I've already gotten off to a good start!  We had some of our favorite people over for dinner a few weeks ago (shout out to the Burks!) and we had such a great time just hanging out with them.  They also happen to be the parents of Logan's future wife.  He is very smitten with their little girl Avery!  She is an absolute cutie pie and Logan would have great in-laws!  :-)  This past Monday I was finally able to meet our friends' precious twins. (shout out to the Hendersons!)  They are 3 months old and just precious!  It was so fun to get to hang out with Melissa and love on her sweet babies.  I miss holding sleeping babies and feeding them in my arms.  Thanks for letting me get my baby fix, Melissa!

Being a mom of twin toddlers can be very daunting at times to say the least.  There are so many fun things that I want to get out and do with them during the week but I find myself getting so intimidated.  I always worry how they're going to behave and will it be safe for me to take them by myself, blah, blah, blah.  While safety does have to be my number one concern, I really want to just start letting go of all the other fears and worries.  So what if they don't behave perfectly the whole time? It's not the end of the world.  I took a small step yesterday by taking them to a small park in our neighborhood by myself.  It was totally exhausting for me because I felt like I was running in two different directions the whole time, but it was also totally worth it.  They had SO much fun!

So, for only being 2 1/2 weeks into the new year I think that's a pretty good start!  Logan and Paige have their 15 month check-up on Friday so stay tuned for an update.  :-)

A Christmas to remember...

We had a wonderful Christmas this year! We celebrated with Chris' family the weekend before Christmas and had a great time!  We then traveled to Colorado on Friday to spend Christmas with my sister, brother-in-law and niece.  My mom also flew up there with us and that was a HUGE help.  (Thank you to all of you who sent me your suggestions for the flights)  :-)  Overall, Logan & Paige did really well on their first plane ride and long trip.  The airport here in Houston wasn't that busy on Friday and it allowed them to get lots of wiggles out before getting on the plane.  I was able to get Paige to fall asleep for a good portion of the flight, but Mr. Logan just couldn't give it up.  He only got fussy a few times thankfully.

When we got to Denver we were all so excited to see lots of snow on the ground!  We had a great time celebrating the birth of Jesus and watching the excitement of the little ones as they opened their presents from Santa!  Our niece got a sled for Christmas and we all had so much fun sledding with her the day after Christmas.  Nana even took a turn on the sled!  Logan and Paige did really well in the cold and snow and they looked hilarious in their little snowsuits.  Poor things could barely move!  Ha!

We flew back home on Tuesday and were so sad to go.  :-(  Unfortunately, the flight back home was a little rough.  There was a delay taking off, a lot of turbulence at the beginning and then the pilot dropped the plane really quickly at one point and the poor babies couldn't get their ears to pop.  I felt so bad for them.  My mom and Chris also had a hard time getting their ears to pop and were quite uncomfortable.  Needless to say, we had two screaming babies and a very frazzled mommy and daddy.  But, we made it home safe and sound and had a wonderful trip.  That is all that matters!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and for those of you still waiting on your miracles, I pray that 2012 brings you many blessings and that you have an extra stocking (or maybe even two!) hanging up for Christmas this year.
