Christmas Craftiness
I don't really consider myself a crafty person. I've always wanted to be, but instead of blessing me with talent God gave me the ability to appreciate other people's crafty talent...and I just pay them for it. Ha! Now that I'm a mom I am trying really hard to be more creative. I have always dreamed of doing fun projects and crafts with my kids, especially during the holidays. I am SO thankful for Pinte.rest because I find so many fun ideas on there! I came across a super cute idea a few weeks ago and I just knew that I had to try it out for Logan and Paige. It's a Christmas tree and ornaments made out of felt. How clever is that!? This was such a super easy project and Logan and Paige absolutely LOVE it! When Christmas is over, I want to get a piece of felt to hang on the wall and I'm going to make felt letters and other fun objects for them to play with on it. So fun! If you have a toddler, I highly recommend trying this out. You won't be disappointed!
Here are some pictures of the tree (please excuse the crazy bed hair):

Calling all travelers
Ok all you mommys, I need some traveling advice. We will be taking our first airplane trip with Logan & Paige in December for Christmas. Please leave me a comment or email me and let me know any advice you have for traveling with little ones, anything specific that we should take on the plane to help entertain them, etc. I'd love to know if there is a specific item that you could not have lived without when you were traveling with the kiddos.
Thanks in advance! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Well, it happened...
the dreaded stomach bug found its way into our house. Yuck!! First off, I have to say that I am so incredibly grateful that we managed to make it a whole year without having to deal with the complete ickiness that is the stomach bug. I have no idea how we were so lucky to avoid it for this long! Poor Logan woke up Friday morning COVERED in vomit and diarrhea. I was greeted by an awful smell as I approached the room that morning. As soon as I opened the door I looked over at Logan and realized what the smell was. That little man sure is lucky that I love him so much! Ha! I just had to stand there for a few seconds trying to figure out a game plan. I didn't know where to start with the cleanup process! Thankfully he has only thrown up twice, but unfortunately the second time I was holding him. Needless to say mommy and Logan needed a wardrobe change.
Today he was still battling some yucky poop and a low grade fever, but all in all I think we've fared pretty well. I am praying that the rest of us somehow manage to escape coming down with it. So far so good, but we still have a few days left of the incubation period. I have been a Lysol fool since Friday morning and I think I am going to need a really good hand lotion to soothe my dry hands from all the hand washing. I absolutely hate this virus and I want these germs out of my house ASAP!
Thank you, Aunt Christi & Uncle Adam for bringing us a yummy dinner tonight! It was nice to not have to worry about what I was going to fix for dinner.
I hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend!

What we're up to at one year...
Logan & Paige had their one year check-up last Friday. I was dreading the appointment because I had heard that the one year shots could be brutal. Wow. Were they ever! My poor baby girl SCREAMED! She was so upset that she tinkled completely through her diaper and onto the examining table. :-( I was holding Logan and had just gotten him settled from his shots when it was Paige's turn. As soon as she let out the first scream he whipped his head around so he could see her and then he started to cry too. It was the sweetest but at the same time the saddest thing ever. Thankfully they had a great check-up and our pediatrician was very pleased with where they're at.
I'm going to just do a bullet style update for each of them to document what they're doing and how big they are at one year. I've been trying to write this post for a week now, so I think I just need to take the easy way out and get it done. :-)

Happy 1st Birthday, Logan & Paige!
Wow, I can't believe this day is actually here. My sweet babies are one year old. This past year has truly been the best year ever! Being a parent is hard work. I'm so glad we survived!
We spent the day together as a family and it was so much fun just celebrating Logan and Paige all day! We took them to the Children's Museum this morning to play and they had so much fun. Then we had lunch at Luby's which is one of their favorites! Daddy even got them red jello. :-) After lunch we headed home for naps. Logan and Paige slept for about two hours and then we opened a few gifts. After dinner we gave them each a cupcake to dive into and we sang "Happy Birthday" to them! They loved the cupcakes! Mommy splurged and went to Crav.e Cupcakes. They are SO yummy! We're having their birthday party on Saturday and the theme is a pumpkin patch. Stay tuned for those pictures! We have their one year check-up next week so I'll post their stats later.
I still remember the day they were born like it was yesterday. I kept replaying all the memories in my mind this week and I must have looked at all the pictures a hundred times. I can't believe how much they have grown in a year. They were such tiny peanuts when they were born, especially Logan. I am just so thankful for these precious miracle babies. I can't imagine my life without them. I hope I can teach them half as much as they have taught me this year.
Logan~ Oh, my sweet little man. You are just so incredibly precious to me! You are such a lovebug and you give such sweet cuddles and kisses! When you smile it just melts my heart. You are such a great brother to Paige. You are so sweet to share your food with her and you love to lay on her and cuddle. It is just so cute! The first time I saw your sweet little face on the day you were born I was just so in love. You are such a blessing and I thank God for you every day. Happy 1st Birthday, my sweet boy! Mommy and Daddy love you SO much!!

First Haircuts
Logan & Paige went for their first haircuts on Sept. 24th. I put it off as long as I could. Logan's hair has lots of volume on top and it was just out of control! Paige's hair grows straight down in the front and it was covering her eyes. Little miss also won't keep bows in her hair or keep headbands on anymore so I had no way of keeping the hair out of her eyes. She was in desperate need of a trim. It was SO emotional for me. They are just growing up way too fast and I knew that as soon as they had their hair cut they would look older. I was right! Paige didn't change too much, but Logan...let's just say mommy shed some tears watching his hair being cut. :-( His haircut is so cute but he definitely looks like a little man now and not a baby. I like Paige's new haircut too but I might have to take her back in a few weeks to trim it up a bit more. I didn't want bangs straight across her forehead, so I asked the lady to trim up the front so that I could still sweep her hair to the side. I'm working on growing her hair into a cute, little bob!
Here are some pictures of them getting their hair cut and then some pictures of what they look like now.
