Where's the instruction manual???
Logan and Paige are both coming off of some kind of little stomach virus. They never ran a fever and they both continued to eat and play well, but they had a lot of yucky poop. Paige is still dealing with it and has a terrible tushy rash that is thankfully almost healed now. Poor baby girl. :-( It all started on Sunday when both of them decided that they didn't want to take their second morning nap. It just went downhill from there. I think we just had too many activities planned for the day. Church, birthday dinner and then our church small group. I don't know who was more exhausted and overwhelmed that evening, me and Chris or the babies! From then on it has been a constant struggle with naptime and bedtime. Tuesday was HORRIBLE!! Paige woke me up at 2:00 and when I finally got her back to sleep Logan decided to wake up at 4:30. Not fun. The day continued to be a complete disaster. I really wasn't sure if I would make it through the day until Chris got home.
Yesterday started off rocky with Logan waking me up at 4:00. Paige woke up at 4:30 and then Logan again at 5:00. The morning nap also started off rocky, but somehow they both managed to take their full naps yesterday and they both had a pretty good night last night. I have discovered that neither of them want to be rocked to sleep now. We used to be able to rock Paige in our arms for a little bit and put her down in her bed sleepy but still awake. Now we just have to put her down sleepy or a little awake rather than rocking her first. Logan is the same. He absolutely protests being held and put to sleep. Why isn't there some kind of warning when things are going to abruptly change? Like, "Hey mom, just wanted to let you know that I prefer not to be rocked to sleep anymore. K, thanks!" That would be nice!
So far, today hasn't been too bad. I think that maybe, just maybe, I might be seeing some light at the end of this tunnel. Logan woke up at 5:00 this morning but I was able to get him back to sleep within about twenty minutes and then they both slept until about 6:45. Woohoo! It would have been even better if I could have continued to sleep during that time but I was so sure that they would start screaming again and I just couldn't relax and get back to sleep. The morning nap went well today, but the second nap has been rough. I am determined to get the little man sleeping in his bed during naps. Paige does really well in her bed for naps, but Logan doesn't. Most of the time he ends up napping in his swing or in my arms. I know, I know...bad mommy. Don't judge, though. I have two babies and sometimes you just have to do whatever it takes to get them to just sleep for a little bit!!
Here's hoping that we have another good night of sleeping tonight and good naps tomorrow! The babies have their four month check-up tomorrow and I can't wait to see how much they weigh and how long they are now. Stay tuned for that update!

4 Months
Here's what the babies are up to:
Logan~ My sweet, little man! You are such a HAM!! You are so smiley and you love to laugh! You greet us with a smile every morning when you wake up. :-) Your biggest accomplishment was rolling over for the first time last night!!! Daddy thinks that you rolled over so you could get a better view of the Grammy's on TV last night. Ha! You do really well during tummy time and tolerate it pretty well. You're drinking 4-6 ounces every 4 hours during the day. You take three naps during the day. Your first two naps are usually 2 1/2-3 hours long and your third nap varies. You usually try to manipulate mommy into holding you for a good part of this nap. :-) You're still wearing a few 0-3 month clothes but have just about outgrown all of them. You can still wear your 3 months clothes for the most part but you are just about ready to jump into your 3-6 month clothes. You're wearing size 1 diapers but not far from moving into size 2. You LOVE bath time! You just love to splish splash in your bath and you usually end up splashing a lot of the water out of your tub. :-) Your thumb is your BFF. You still like your binky when mommy is holding you and putting you to sleep, but other than that you prefer your thumb. You still say "Hey" all the time! It is so funny. You love to talk all the time and will just carry on a conversation with us and with your sister. You almost always smile at Paige when she's looking at you. It is so sweet! We love you SO much, little man, and we can't wait to see all the new things you're going to learn!
Paige~ You are such a little princess! You are starting to smile a lot now and will often greet us with a smile when you wake up in the morning and after your naps. You are still such a daddy's girl! You love to lay on daddy's chest and just melt into him. You would sleep the day away with him if you could! :-) You love to talk and you really like it when we talk back to you! You are such a sweet, little girl. I could just eat you and your little chipmunk cheeks! You are drinking 4-6 ounces every 4 hours during the day. You take three naps during the day. You usually sleep between 2 1/2-3 hours each nap. You are such a good sleeper! You can only wear a few 0-3 month clothes and can still wear most of your 3 month clothes. Some of your 3-6 month clothes are fitting you already. You are wearing size 1 diapers but you're almost ready for size 2. You LOVE bath time! You like to just sit and relax while we wash your hair. It's like you're at the spa! I love it! You also like to play around with your little animial bath toys and you'll splash around some too. You just love Logan! You like to reach over and hold his hand or rub his face when you're laying on the ground together. When you're getting sleepy you will lay your head over on his shoulder sometimes. So sweet! We love you SO much, sweetpea, and can't wait to see all the new things you're going to learn!
