25 weeks and 2 days

We have made it another week! Yay! Our next goal is 32 weeks. I can't believe that's less than 7 weeks away! Thankfully we're all hanging in there and continuing to grow and do well. I had to put away yet another pair of maternity pants this week. They were pure torture I tell you. I'm now down to one pair again so I think I might have to make a trip to the store again. My maternity shirts are also starting to dwindle. That's okay, though. I love this bump and its constant growth is reassurance that these babies are growing too. :-)

This past week has been a challenge. I stayed home from work on Monday because I just felt like I had hit a wall when I woke up. I've been playing catch up all week. My energy level has just been low this week, but I'm pretty sure that I can blame this on the numerous sleepless nights I had last week. The babies have been moving around a lot all day long. I keep wondering if that has anything to do with my energy level. I LOVE feeling them move so I'll take the low energy as long as they keep moving and grooving in there! But, I would greatly appreciate it if Miss Paige would stay out of my ribs. :-)

My baby shower last Sunday was wonderful! I had such a great time and I got a lot of great stuff for the babies. Thank you Christi and Becky for all your hard work! My shower was amazing!! :-) My best friend and her husband are driving in tomorrow to throw us our couple's shower tomorrow night. I'm so excited!!! It's at one of our favorite restaurants, Escala.nte's. Yum!! I'll try to post pics from both showers soon. I hope you all have a great weekend!!

24 Weeks and 2 Days

I am 24 weeks and 2 days! Yay! I was so excited to finally reach the viability stage for these babies. Now, we of course do not want these little ones making an appearance ANY time soon, but it's just nice to know that we made it to our first milestone. :-)

I had an appointment with my OB on Wednesday. She said that everything looked great and I'm now measuring at 30 weeks! She's letting me have one more 4 week appointment and then I'll start seeing her every 2 weeks. God has truly blessed me with such a wonderful, healthy pregnancy so far and I am loving every minute of this pregnancy. As we were sitting in the waiting room on Wednesday Paige started kicking a lot. Chris put his hand on my belly to feel and she let loose with the biggest kick I had felt! She pretty much kicked his hand off my belly! It was so neat to feel and I love that Chris got to experience that.

Last nigth I was laying on the couch and our cat, Charlie, came to cuddle with me. He layed down to where he was facing me and his back feet were up against the bottom of my belly where Logan is. All of a sudden Logan started kicking Charlie's feet! Charlie lifted his head, kinda looked around and started twitching his feet and pushing back. Then Logan would kick him again and Charlie would twitch and push back again. They went on like this for several minutes. It was so funny! Poor Charlie has no idea that this is just the beginning of the torture that he will endure from these babies! Ha!

My first baby shower is this weekend! I'm so excited!!! I thought I might never get to experience my own baby shower so it feels surreal to think that I'll be attending my own shower and not someone else's. My bosses threw me a wonderful shower at work this past week. It was so nice and so much fun! They really went above and beyond and I am so grateful for their generosity. :-) I hope everyone has a wonerful weekend! I'll post pics of my shower after Sunday!

Amazing Weekend

We had a great weekend! It started off on Saturday with our maternity photo shoot. We decided to take them now for several reasons: we don't know if I'll get put on bed rest at some point, we don't know if these babies might decide to come early, and I didn't want to take pictures and be really huge and swollen. We had so much fun at our shoot! It almost got rained out but thankfully the downpour held off for us. Kristy Owens is an AMAZING photographer who just happens to attend our church! We found each other through the blog world last year and she has been so sweet to follow along on our journey and pray for us. I was so excited that we could have someone who had followed our journey take these special pictures for us. We will treasure these pictures forever. You can take a sneak peek at some of our photos by clicking here. If you don't mind we would love for you to please leave a comment on the blog post. If we get 10 comments we get a free 8x10!! Help us out!

The funny thing about Saturday is that it started off TERRIBLY. For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to get my eyebrows waxed the day of the photo shoot. BIG mistake. The pregnancy hormones have apparently made my skin extra sensitive. The wax ended up burning my skin and my eyebrow area turned bright pink and became swollen. Fantastic! Next I headed off to have my hair cut and fixed for the photos. I went to a salon that I hadn't been to in several years because I didn't want to drive all over town to get my hair done and then have my makeup done. So I went to the mall and this became mistake #2. The haircut itself was fine, but she didn't fix my hair. I could have done a better job at home by myself. I was so upset and angry. I left the salon and immediately called Chris. I then became the pregnant woman standing in the middle of the mall crying on the phone. Oh yes, I did. I ended the primping by going to the MA.C makeup counter in Ma.cy's to have my makeup done. Thankfully this turned out great. Whew! If it hadn't I don't know what I would have done. :-) It all ended up being perfect in the end but my doctor probably wouldn't have been happy about my stress level or blood pressure while all of this was going on.

Now onto Sunday. We had a great time at church, followed by a yummy lunch at Pappasit.os and then we ended at our maternity tour at our hospital. Our tour was awesome. We were the only couple having multiples so the nurse told us to stick around after the tour was over and she would take us up to the NICU and show us around. That one on one time with her was awesome. She was able to give us so much information and answered all of our questions. She was so nice too! She spent almost an hour with us up there and we just couldn't thank her enough. Thanks again, Lisa!

Last but not least, we had our second appointment with the specialist this morning. We were so excited to see our sweet babies again! Logan was pretty cooperative with allowing them to get his measurements but then got stubborn when she tried to get some 4D pics. Our precious little Paige was just a little toot from the get go. She was apparently enjoying her beauty sleep and did NOT want to participate today. She just curled her little self up in a ball, face down and would not move. I think she's going to be stubborn like her mommy. Yikes! The doctor said that they both look perfect and we will go back again in 3 weeks. Both babies are weighing about 1 lb 7 oz now. Yay! Here are some photos from today.

Randomness

This is going to be a post of pure random thoughts, but at least it's a post, right? :-) First off I'll be 23 weeks tomorrow. Woohoo! Our changing table should be delivered tomorrow. I can't wait. We already have the cribs put up in the nursery and we have the chair and ottoman. The changing table is the last piece of furniture we'll be putting in there. The bedding should hopefully be here by the end of the month. We really can't decide on paint colors or any other decorations until it gets here. We also have both car seats and the stroller will be here on Thursday. Yay! It's still so strange to walk into that room and know that it's for our babies. Such an amazing thing!
In more randomness, I have something funny to share. Any of you pregos out there or anyone who is already a mom can probably relate. I sneezed really hard two times in a row tonight and it made me pee on myself. Lol!!! I was laughing so hard that I was crying. Chris was laughing too. It was only a little bit, but it was still funny. :-)

I ordered a few different clothing items for the babies. A few of these are things that I had seen before I was pregnant and I just couldn't wait to buy them one day for our child/ren. I'll leave you with some photos of these precious items!

I LOVE this! This is for Paige to wear next year during college football season. You can't see it but her name is embroidered on the bottom left corner of the dress. Too cute!

I couldn't resist! I found these on Et.sy

Aren't these adorable little onesies?! I ordered them from Fai.th Ba.by

22 Weeks

I'm 22 weeks today! This pregnancy is really flying by. I'm so excited to meet these little ones, but I just don't want to miss a minute of this amazing time. I am enjoying pregnancy so much. A few posts back someone commented and asked if we had names that we were sharing for the twins. The answer is YES! Their names will be Logan Michael and Paige Elise. Everyone always seems to have an opinion about the names you choose for your baby/babies when pregnant, but Chris and I love their names and that's just really all that matters. :-)

Things are still progressing well. The belly continues to grow and I'm starting to feel them a little bit more. Our next appointment isn't until July 19th so I don't have any new photos or updates to share just yet. Our dog has discovered my baby belly. She will come up and nuzzle my belly with her head. It's really cute! Paige and Logan are going to love their doggy!

Not much else has changed (other than the size of the bump) since my last post. I'm still craving watermelon, lemonade and ice cold water. I could eat a whole watermelon every single day! I can't get enough of it! My weight gain so far is about 13 pounds. I have a feeling that it's going to really start picking up over the next couple of weeks. That's ok with me. I love having my baby bump!
Here are my belly pics from the last couple of weeks.

Prayer Request

I have a prayer request. My sweet blog-friend, Sarah, really needs your prayers right now. You can click here to go to her blog. Sarah is 20 weeks pregnant with twins and in danger of losing them. Both babies are doing great, Praise God. However, Sarah has been having a lot of contractions and her cervix continues to thin out. She is on strict bed rest and will be admitted to the hospital for bed rest in a few weeks for the remainder of her pregnancy. Please pray for Sarah, her husband and these precious babies. Please pray that God will calm her uterus and that her cervix will stop thinning and become stable. The doctors are hoping to keep the babies in for at least another 6 weeks to give them a fighting chance.

My heart is absolutely broken for Sarah and her husband right now. I cannot even imagine the fear that she is feeling right now. Sarah and I have been blog friends since last year and she is just such an amazing person. She was so encouraging through our IVF cycles and has continued to support and encourage me through this pregnancy. I so wish that I lived closer so that I could go visit her and encourage her in person.

Thank you in advance for your prayers. If you have a moment, please visit Sarah's blog and leave her some encouragement too. It's always nice to know that people care about you and are thinking of you.

Almost 20 weeks

I completely missed getting a 19 week post up last week. Oops! So, in an effort to redeem myself I'm posting my 20 week update a few days early. :-) We had our first ultrasound and appointment with the Maternal Fetal Medicine Doctor this morning. He said that both babies look great and that he didn't see anything to be concerned about at this point. Woohoo! Both babies are about 11 oz now and measuring right on track. It was so nice to be able to see them again and see how much they've grown over the last month. I am just so thankful for a great report on both of them! We also found out that there are definitely two placentas, but that they are just fused together. The doctor didn't seem too concerned about that at this point.

Our little boy was moving all over the place at first this morning. I think he was enjoying the sugar high from the donuts and OJ I had for breakfast this morning. That didn't last long, though. After about 30 minutes or so he found a nice, comfy spot and decided to take a snooze. He absolutely would NOT budge for the ultrasound tech. She had me turn on my side, she prodded my belly, she prodded him with the ultrasound wand...nothing. He was comfy and not having any of this prodding business while he was trying to sleep. He definitely gets that from his daddy! :-)

Our little girl was a bit more cooperative, but she did keep pushing her little tush up into my ribs which made it really hard to get good shots of her lower spine. She has been hanging out around my ribs a lot more lately. Little toot! The ultrasound ended with us being able to see the two babies kicking each other's feet! It was so cute! The ultrasound tech said that our little girl's feet look so small compared to her brother's feet. Looks like our little boy has his daddy's feet! Chris is about 6'1 and had big feet when he was little. Poor thing. His family used to call him Thumper.

I can tell that my bones and ligaments have shifted around more because my back pain has gotten better at night (thank goodness!), but my hips are starting to ache. My feet began to swell the last few days from sitting for too long. I'm trying to keep them elevated as much as possible and to not sit for too long at a time. We'll see how this week goes at work. I sit at at a desk for 9 hours a day. My feet may look like giant puffs by the end of the week.

So far I'm really feeling pretty good. The belly continues to grow and grow. I have now outgrown both pairs of my maternity jeans that I bought in April and my work capris are starting to get too tight around my belly when I sit down. I will take it, though. I waited a long time to have this belly and I am not going to complain about it! I would love to just live in stretchy tank tops, leggings and tunics for the rest of the summer!

Here are some pics from today. Enjoy!
